Australian international Natalie Carter did the double at the West Coast Classic this past weekend, winning both the Womens’ Singles and Pairs.
Staged at the Vasto Club in Balcatta, Western Australia, the West Coast Classic was the second event of the year on the Darts Australia circuit.
12 women contested the Open Singles, with Carter producing a dominant display against Dot McLeod in the final. Carter, who finished with an 65.34 average, won 5-0 and took home $1,000 AUD for her efforts, the same amount as Men’s Open winner Tim Pusey.
Carter, the ex-wife of 2002 BDO World Champion Tony David, had previously accounted for Jucinta Dann and Stephanie Moriarty before her impressive final display.
That tournament victory was the second of the weekend for the former World Masters quarter-finalist, who had won the Ladies’ Pairs the previous day alongside Ursula Bennell.
Kristina Gallacher won the B grade Ladies Singles, defeating Roz Reimers 3-0 in the final with a 47.94 average, while Lilly Zdun beat Rebecca Gleeson in the Girls’ competition.
The next scheduled event on the Darts Australia calendar is the Sunshine State Classic, pencilled in for May
23.
