MIKURU SUZUKI

#IWD2021

For anyone in the mainstream who didn't know of Mikuru Suzuki post 2019, they most certainly do now!

Suzuki became the first Asian player to participate in the BDO Women's World Championships. She sealed her place in the 2019 event via the qualifiers, going on to win the event without dropping a set.

An already prolific player on the soft-tip scene, Suzuki took up the sport in her late-twenties and was quick to make a big impression.

Suzuki featured in both the 2019 and 2020 PDC Grand Slam, and qualified for the 2020 PDC World Championships, where she came from two sets down to force a tie-breaker leg against James Richardson.

The reigning WDF World Champion, the 2019 Dutch Open Champion, Suzuki also went on to retain her Women's World Championship crown, beating Lisa Ashton in the 2020 final.
